How do I know if I live in Trustee Area 4?
New Haven Unified School District elects Board Trustees by trustee area, covering Union City and South Hayward. Confirm your trustee area with the district or the Alameda County Registrar of Voters before you vote. Official maps and lookup tools are published by those offices—we do not host a substitute map on this site.

What does a school board trustee actually do?
The Board of Trustees sets district policy, adopts the district budget, hires and evaluates the superintendent, and provides oversight for New Haven Unified schools. It does not run city hall, the county, or BART, though the district works with local governments and community partners.
