Technology is reshaping how we live and work. AI, robotics, and digital tools are no longer optional; they are essential for students preparing for a changing world.
As a software engineer with 20 years of experience, I understand what actually works and how to introduce tools into a classroom without chasing every trend. Practical technology means tools teachers can use and students can learn from—not shelfware.
I want New Haven Unified classrooms in Trustee Area 4 and across the district to give every child access to the skills employers, colleges, and trades will be looking for.
What I'll push for
- Prioritize practical classroom technology—AI literacy, robotics, and digital tools—over one-off gadgets
- Ask for clear implementation plans so new tools reach students and teachers, not just purchase orders
- Use an engineer's lens to evaluate what is usable, maintainable, and worth the district budget
- Keep the focus on student readiness for a changing world, not technology for its own sake
